Adam Webster is Deputy Head (Innovation) at Caterham School.

Below is his TEDx talk on ‘Why a disruptive education will lead to a brighter future’

In his talk, Adam discusses the way that in some respects, education has changed little since Dickens’ time. Passing exams is still the measure of an effective education. He points to a need for a more disruptive view of ‘what education is for’ and suggests that schools need to feel more relevant for pupils by equipping them with transferrable skills and an understanding of how their knowledge in discreet subjects can be combined to produce a more powerful and innovative outcome.

He argues that we need to be entrusted with producing many more ‘big thinkers’ such as James Dyson and Elon Musk!
