One of the biggest questions asked by most people nowadays is ‘why do people believe in ghosts?’

One of the reasons why people do have a belief in ghosts is first hand experience, whereas some people simply believe in ghosts through word and media online.

What do you think?

  1. From an existentialist point of view, I believe that people are afraid of the possibility that there’s no other life after death, so they fill in the gaps themselves because of a desperation backed up by a lack of solid evidence

  2. I think a lot of people believe in ghosts from opinions of others. We are exposed to ghosts online and in movies and a lot of it is based on a ‘true story’. Whether we know this is true or not we still end up believing that ghosts are real. I also think we believe in ghost from first hand expieremce and the media

  3. Personally I don’t believe in ghosts as there has been countless viral videos of “ghosts” that have been exposed for being fake. There is also no hard evidence to provide that ghosts exist and people who claim to have experienced ghosts most likely are making it up or just mistakes objects falling for a supernatural being trying to interact with them.

  4. It seems to me that people feel a desperation as humans to have a knowledge of everything and look to fill in the gaps on their own. When there is no solid evidence at the time to back up an occurance, we fill it in with what feels logical, too afraid to admit to ourselves that we simply don’t understand something and that that’s okay. We can strive to find proof of why something happened but I don’t believe we should simply jump to conclusion. There are also those who use the idea as a copy mechanism for grief. This is again a fear of the unknown, this being a fear of death being the ultimate. Some look to mediums for consolation and some have always belived but I would still argue that this is an unfair view, a lack of critical observasion and an unhealthy way to overcome death as one puts themself in a state where they continue to lie to themselves, knowing deep down that they know it not to be true
