We’ve just finished running our first ever Cranleigh Foundation Week and it was a huge success. Here, organiser Susannah Schofield, Head of Cranleigh Giving, reflects on the highlights of the week.
The Week was the first dedicated digital campaign for the Cranleigh Foundation and I have to admit to feeling somewhat daunted about whether I could beg enough content from colleagues, create the quantity of assets to make a digital campaign as well as react to social media in real-time. On top of this, I privately wondered if there would be enough interest from the community to sustain a seven-day campaign.
As with all new projects, especially those which daunt us, preparation was key and, in the months ahead of the Week, the Cranleigh Giving team devoted hours of time in editing articles, sourcing images and creating social media slides. We were mindful to maintain Foundationers and their families’ confidentiality and were determined to frame their stories in as empowering a way as possible.
Over the course of the week, it was great to see, in the words of chairman of Governing Body and Foundation trustee, Adrian Lajtha describe the Cranleigh Foundation as ‘a real jewel in the Cranleigh crown and,’ over the week, ‘it has been wonderful to see it sparkle in the light of so many contributions from people involved in its work’.
Highlights from the Cranleigh Foundation Week include:
- Cranleigh Prep School raising a fantastic £515 at their mufti day
- Great engagement with the campaign, making thousandss of impressions on Twitter and hundreds reading the content we produced for the Week.
- Our partner organisations, Surrey Virtual School, the Royal National Children’s SpringBoard Foundation and the Eastside Young Leaders’ Academy, agreeing to contribute content to support the campaign
A personal highlight for me was receiving a message from a former member of Foundation team after I shared the campaign film: it ‘was so good and made me very proud to have been there at the start’.
I’d like to say a big thank you to:
- everyone who agreed to be arm-twisted to contribute an article or video for the Cranleigh Foundation Week
- Foundationers’ carers, OC Foundationers and their families for sending in quotes telling us how the Foundation has helped them
- Phil Spencer for narrating our campaign film explaining the work of the Cranleigh Foundation
And a final thank you to you for reading and championing the Cranleigh Foundation – we couldn’t have done it without you!
