2007 To mark the School’s 150th anniversary, the Governing Body sets up the Cranleigh Foundation. Its original aims are two-fold: to help fund capital projects and to provide bursaries for children. The first chairman is Dr Steve Mockford
2008 The Cranleigh Foundation is formally registered as a charity, number 1122918 with the Charity Commission
2009 The Emms Centre opens, providing much-needed classroom space for Maths, Science and Modern Languages
A £500,000 renovation of the Jubilee pavilion takes place, part-funded by OCs
OC Vivian Cox leaves a legacy of £655,000 to the Cranleigh Foundation and the school launches its legacy society, the Vivian Cox Society, in his honour
The Foundation launches the Cranleigh Sporting Excellence Appeal (consisting 1st XV rugby pitch and multi-sports clubhouse project)
The Rhodes Block is converted into a new Art and Design centre
Old Cranleighan Society gives £300,000 to Cranleigh Foundation
The Foundation hosts its first fundraising ball, the Winter Wonderland Ball, which raises £25,000
The Revd Canon Nigel Nicholson is appointed chairman
2010 The Foundation runs its first Cranleigh Christmas Fair, raising just under £8,000
The new Mander organ is funded by OC Hamish Ogston. This is part of a £2 million-refurbishment of the School Chapel part-funded by OCs and parents
The Foundation runs annual Ladies’ Tennis Tournaments in aid of the Cranleigh Foundation until 2017. Over the years, these raise £5,000
2011 The Cranleigh Midsummer Ball raises £90,000 for the Foundation and two other charities
An OC Art Exhibition is held in Central London with a percentage of proceeds donated to the Foundation
The first Foundationer joins Cranleigh
2013 A copse of 100 trees is donated by families planted to mark centenary of the Prep School
2015 The sale of the original Chapel pews raises £20,690 for the Foundation
The first Foundationer selected by Buttle UK arrives at Cranleigh
2016 The ‘Leaving’ War Memorial is unveiled. The memorial is funded, in part, by donations from Old Cranleighans and the Chapel refurbishment completed
The Foundation holds the Sesquicentennial Spectacular Summer ball , raising £90,000
The Rev Canon Nicholson retires as chairman and OC Nick Meyer is appointed chairman
2017 The board of trustees re-focus the objective of Cranleigh Foundation to funding places for children affected by tragedy
2018 The first Foundationer selected by the SpringBoard Foundation arrives at Cranleigh
2019 Foundation Chairman, Nick Meyer, embarks on a sponsored walk of the entire length of the Cornish Coastal Path to raise money for the Cranleigh Foundation. He raises £25,000
2020 OC John Oram leaves a legacy of £242,048 to the Cranleigh Foundation
Cranleigh Christmas Fair runs as a virtual event in response to pandemic and social restrictions
2021 The governors assign £1m allocated from Cranleigh Abu Dhabi to the Foundation
2022 The School runs its first Cranleigh Foundation Week
The Foundation plans its fourth fundraising ball, the Spectacular Summer Ball, to be held on 4 June
